A Big Thank You

On behalf of everyone at The New Swindon Company I just want to say a big thank you to all those who came along to the switch on of Big Screen Swindon on 2 May and showed their support for the regeneration of the town.

The event was a great success with Swindon Dance providing entertainment, a penalty shoot out with STFC football players, face painting, Dizzy Dean on stilts and of course a live BBC broadcast with Alex Lovell and Richard Angwin.

This was a great opportunity to involve the community in what is the first area in Swindon to be redeveloped and I hope Wharf Green will now be an area that locals and visitors can enjoy.

A special thank you to all those involved in the preparation for the event and the co-ordination of activities on the day.

Re: A Big Thank You

The updates on here are really depressing - just more and more delays?! What happened to signing contracts 'within a month' back in March?

Is this thing going to happen or not? Everyones sick of white fences and broken promises.

Re: A Big Thank You

I was under the impression the old college was had started to be demolished. However, when I came back to swindon I noticed it still seemed completely untouched... what's the hold up?

Are the developers struggling to obtain finances in the present circumstances? I imagine many people have the same question!

Thanks

Re: A Big Thank You

I check this site regularly as i am very interested in this project. A regeneration of Swindon is way overdue in my opinion.

I find the lack of news on this site and the apparent lack of visible progress dissapointing, although i understand lots is being done

More frequent information on plans and progress would be much appreciated
