Commercial
- Providing for at least 55,000 sq m of prime new office space in a flagship development, Swindon will have an expanded commercial core that will provide state-of-the-art accommodation to meet growing demand from existing and new businesses
Residential
- Space for approximately 450 new homes, including 30 % affordable, will blend with the surrounding residential areas and ensure The Exchange has life and vibrancy after office hours
Retail and Leisure
- Complementing the commercial and residential space, The Exchange will include a space for a large store and an element of leisure and ancillary retail which will total up to 25,000 sq m. To ensure a lively core, a 13,000 sq m hotel, restaurants and cafes will add to The Exchange's appeal in the evenings and throughout the day
Urban Design and Movement
- High quality building design and public spaces will create an attractive environment. New buildings will face out onto The Arena to give an improved image of the town
- Parking to meet the needs of businesses, residents and shoppers will be provided in a mixture of multi-storey and undercroft parking
- Provision is being made for the possible relocation of the bus station to improve linkages to the railway station, primary shopping and office areas
- New pedestrian routes through the area, new public spaces and improvements to the existing public areas such as New Bridge Square will provide an attractive environment for everyone
