- New Chief Executive appointed to The New Swindon Company
News
The New Swindon Company (Swindon's urban regeneration company) has appointed Peter Andrews as its new Chief Executive. He will be taking up his new post at the beginning of March 2003.
Andrews is a chartered surveyor and joins the company from Tishman International Companies where he has been Managing Director, UK and Europe for over six years. His career in property has included investment and financing roles at Warburg Investment Management Limited and Bankers Trust Company followed by directorships of Winglaw Group Limited and Dwyer Estates plc where he was responsible for the acquisition, financing and development of both commercial and residential property.
John Cullum, Chairman of The New Swindon Company, said, "The company's board is delighted that Peter is joining us to lead the business and to drive through the tremendous opportunities that I know we have here in the centre of Swindon. He brings with him a wealth of property experience and a record of achievement."
Andrews commented, "This is a very exciting time to be joining The New Swindon Company. The town centre has not kept pace with Swindon's successful economic expansion and needs redeveloping to bring life back to the centre so that it becomes a desirable place in which to live, work, shop and spend leisure time. I'll be aiming to achieve a cohesive regeneration that encompasses housing, retail, public areas, culture, leisure, education, transport and employment. There's great potential to make a real difference and I'm looking forward to being part of that change."
